The team must fill a leaky pipe with water to raise a cork float hidden at the bottom. The catch: the pipe is full of holes, so players must plug them with their fingers while also carrying water to the pipe from a source some distance away. The game tests quick improvisation, role division, and how well the team adapts on the move.

Equipment

- A leaky pipe fixed to a solid point (table, fence, tree) - A cork float (alternative: a ping pong ball) - Containers for carrying water (shot glasses, cups) - A water source some distance away (about 20 m) - a bucket or a hose - Grey duct tape (to seal some of the holes and adjust difficulty) - A stopwatch

How to Play

- Fix the pipe to a solid point so the team can't move it around. If the team is large enough, they can hold the pipe in place themselves. They must not carry it away from its spot. - Drop the float into the pipe - check beforehand that it floats. - Explain the rule: holes are plugged with fingers (or other body parts, if you allow it), and water may only be carried in the designated containers. - Start the clock. The team must carry water to the pipe while also plugging the holes, so the water level rises faster than it leaks out. - The game ends once the team manages to fish the float out with their fingers.

Tips & Variations

- Expect one player to be able to cover about 3 to 4 holes with their hands - use this to match team size to the number of holes. - You can easily adjust difficulty with duct tape - sealing some holes makes the game easier. - Place the pipe further from the water source to create a real logistical challenge (carrying, swapping runners and pluggers). - If the game feels too easy, try playing it in silence - the team has to coordinate without talking. - Water can also be passed hand to hand in a line instead of running with cups - a different kind of coordination, less movement, more sync. - For more competitive groups, set up two pipes side by side and let teams race each other. - If the water is poured too fast, the float may get pushed under the surface for a moment - just wait for it to come back up. - Expect people to get wet. Play outdoors in warm weather. - Don't skip a short reflection afterward - who took the lead, how the runner/plugger roles were split, what they'd do differently next time.
